CCAC-St. Jude Walk/Run

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer. To support this impactful cause, The Physical and Mental Health Committee invites you to join us Saturday, September 21, 2024 for the St. Jude Walk/ Run! As a chapter, we are committed to raising $2,200. We know we can meet and exceed this goal with your support!

Event Details:

Who: Calling all Sorors, Friends, and Family! (Sorors, please wear your Delta paraphernalia) The committee will provide gold ribbons to show our support for childhood cancer.

What: St. Jude Walk/Run 2024 to end childhood cancer

When: Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 9:00am *Opening Ceremony at 8:30am

Where: Shoreline Aquatic Park (Parking Lot: 212 Golden Shore, Long Beach, CA 90802) *Check-In: BOSCH Home Appliances

Why: St. Jude is a national charitable partner of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Inc. This September, we’re joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As an organization, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has pledged to raise $75,000.

Here are a few things your gift could help provide:  - $10 could help St. Jude provide a new toy for hospital play areas or recreational areas at St. Jude housing facilities.  - $30 could help provide a family with meals for one day in the Kay Kafe, the St. Jude cafeteria.  - $100 could help provide a platelet count test for two patients.
