About the event
In collaboration, Membership Development Services, Social Action, and Arts & Letters have joined together to bring awareness and attend an upcoming screening (and Q&A) of RESPECT MY CROWN, which is produced by our very own CCAC soror Alisa Bass-Covington who is the Producer of the documentary.
“Respect My Crown: The Rise of African American Women in California Politics, a feature-length documentary film, which explores the significant contributions of African American women in leadership in the areas of politics, labor, and community activism in the State of California."Â
This amazing and awe-inspiring screening will begin with a panel discussion with the film’s Producer, Alisa Covington and Producer/Director Pamela Moon and will be moderated by Kellie Todd Griffin, President and CEO of the CA Black Women’s Empowerment Institute, the film’s Associate Producer, followed by the screening of the film at historic The Wilshire Ebell Theatre.
